The Chocolate Festival of Belize is the perfect excuse to visit Southern Belize and the surrounding Toledo District. Recognized as the Chocolate Capital of Belize, this annual affair brings together all of what Toledo District has to offer – History, Culture, Music, Cacao, Cuisine, and Charm! Just a 3-hour drive from Belize City or a 30-minute airplane ride, it’s a perfect destination to explore Belize’s best-kept secret! Planning details for the 2024 festival are underway!

For years Toledo has been identified by astute travelers as a tourism destination waiting to happen. While a less touristed destination, Toledo offers the very best of Belize within a single, easily navigable destination.
An annual community cultural event that celebrates the culture of Toledo & chocolate while creating a sustainable tourism product to raise awareness of the Toledo District.
The festival takes place in Belize’s southernmost district of Toledo. Each year will bring a new special event. The 15th Anniversary celebration for the 2023 Chocolate Festival included three destinations – a prestigious Chocolate Gala event held at Copal Tree Lodge, an exclusive village experience in Santa Cruz Village and a family-friendly, cultural and food fare in Punta Gorda town.
